2009 – Pre DC Laser and Aubrey perform a very early version of what will eventually become the song “Always Be There (WOW)” at an open mic at the White Eagle Saloon in Portland OR on February 9th, 2009. How early a version you ask? Well, according to Laser in the video it was written earlier that day. This version isn’t super close to the one they would release a year and a half later on their first album/EP. But it does contain some familiar lines, and the overall structure and feel of it is definitely recognizable.
Note: It’s possible the date may be off a bit (it would be earlier than the 9th if it’s anything). This is one of many things I need to try to verify with Laser.

2009 – DC adjacent – Laser wasn’t the only one Aubrey played with that night at the White Eagle. She also played with Renée Muzquiz in a band called Chica Y Los Gatos on the song “The Things I Thought Would Last”

Trivia: Aubrey is also the cello on Renée Muzquiz’s album The Clearing (which features this song).
